VIRTUAL GRATITUDE – AND PASTA - EXPERIENCE

Hilton Head’s Chris Schembra, founder of 7:47 and a bestselling author of “Gratitude and Pasta: The Secret Sauce for Human Connection,” will host a virtual dinner 7:47 p.m. on Nov. 11.

Using its evidence-based framework, the 7:47 Gratitude Experience has sparked more than 500,000 relationships. The event aims forr participants to get to know their neighbors on a deeper level.

Hearthwood Hull Bakery is a new home-based bakery on Hilton Head owned by Katie DeVries. Cookies, cupcakes, breads, and custom cakes are available for pickup and contactless delivery. DeVries is a 2019 Johnson & Wales University graduate. 

Comfort and familiarity are at the root of Chez Georges Bistro & Bar.

Owner George Casalicchio aims to offer a gathering place for families, friends, and neighbors on the South End of Hilton Head Island.

“It doesn’t matter the day or the occasion, it’s a constant,” he said.

Located at the former spot of Casey’s Sports Bar, Chez Georges serves traditional bistro staples such as steak frites and mussels mariniere, incorporating fresh, locally sourced ingredients.

New seafood restaurant, Slapfish, opened March 7 at 1024 William Hilton Parkway near Sea Pines Circle. Serving “honest flippin’ seafood” infused with lots of flavor. Known for offering healthy, affordable, chef-crafted food, Slapfish’s cravable menu features shrimp, fried or grilled fish served in sandwiches, tacos and salads, along with New England clam chowder and fish and chips. Be sure to try their lobster roll, a specialty dish they are known for.

Nunzio Restaurant + Bar is wowing diners on New Orleans Road on Hilton Head Island. The restaurant opened in summer 2019 and word has spread about this beautiful new upscale eatery.

The restaurant’s owner, Nunzio Patruno, formerly owned the successful New Jersey restaurant Nunzio Ristorante Rustico.

The specialty Italian market at Michael Anthony’s has moved to a new location across the courtyard from the restaurant. Now in a newly renovated and larger space they offer an expanded selection of Italian imported specialty products, fresh pastas made daily, and prepared take out Italian favorites. They also offer enhanced catering services in your private home or villa.

Vine, an intimate bistro in Coligny Plaza, now is owned by a French family. Chef Olivier specializes in Mediterranean flavors with a hint of Asian fusion. The décor is heavy on hardwoods and reminiscent of a speakeasy as diners eat by candlelight. Vine has been called “the most romantic place on Hilton Head Island.”

CHEZ GEORGES OPENS ON HILTON HEAD ISLAND
A French Bistro opened on the south of Hilton Head in July. Chez Georges Bistro & Bar offers staples such as steak frites and  moules mariniere with locally sourced ingredients. Chez Georges is owned by George Casalicchi.

Lot 9 Brewing Co. hosted its grand opening last month. The Bluffton nanobrewery, owned by Dana Briggs and Walter Trifari, hopes to provide a space for “people to come together, get away from life’s worries, and drink good beer,” Briggs said.
