New seafood restaurant, Slapfish, opened March 7 at 1024 William Hilton Parkway near Sea Pines Circle. Serving “honest flippin’ seafood” infused with lots of flavor. Known for offering healthy, affordable, chef-crafted food, Slapfish’s cravable menu features shrimp, fried or grilled fish served in sandwiches, tacos and salads, along with New England clam chowder and fish and chips. The fast-casual seafood restaurant chain was founded in 2011 by celebrity chef Andrew Gruel and is based in Orange County, California. Part of the nation’s fastest growing seafood restaurant chain, Slapfish’s Hilton Head location is locally owned and operated by the Lomasney family, who also owns Slapfish in Pooler. The Hilton Head location is a completely remodeled space inside the building that formerly housed The Pantry gas station, on the corner of William Hilton Parkway and Arrow Road and features inside and patio seating.
