MidiCi Italian Kitchen has opened to fanfare in the former Hilton Head Brewing Company location in Reilley’s Plaza. The restaurant features wood-fired Neapolitan pizza made with Italian flour, calzones, salads, appetizers and desserts. The food is made with fresh, natural and mostly non-GMO ingredients in the restaurant’s open kitchen. The eatery brings friends and families together in a warm, upbeat atmosphere.

A favorite from the appetizer menu is the house meat and cheese plate, with black truffle cheese, goat cheese, parmigiano-reggiano, rosemary ham, prosciutto and spicy Italian salami. It’s served with mustard, kalamata olives, dried apricots, dates, walnuts and honey. Guests can order from the menu or create personalized Neapolitan pizzas, which are best with two or three toppings. Local owners Luke and Alison Saleeby imported the signature wood-fired oven from Naples, Italy. The moisture of the white oak logs allows the crust to maintain its internal softness and produces a wonderful aroma of baking bread.

The stand-out specialty menu includes the Margherita & Prosciutto pizza, which comes with housemade tomato sauce and fresh mozzarella topped after baking with prosciutto and baby arugula. Pastas—which can include a substitution for gluten free pasta—include pesto Genovese, made with a housemade pesto sauce of cream and grape tomatoes tossed with orecchiette pasta. Enjoy a glass of wine, signature cocktail or local craft beer in their vibrant dining room. After your meal, try the specialty house made Nutella calzone with fresh berries or one of their authentic Italian espresso drinks made with wood-roasted beans. On Hilton Head Island, a team of about 30 people work hard to make sure each guest’s experience is top notch.
