Munchie’s New Owner
Family-friendly American deli and ice cream shop Munchies has a new owner. Max Woosley moved to Hilton head Island from Dayton, Ohio where he was the owner of two restaurants and an IT business.
He and his wife Janet vacationed on the island for years before relocating here to be near two of their 10 children and a granddaughter. The vast menu at this Main Street Village favorite features Boars Head meats and cheeses, Nathan’s All Beef Hot Dogs, paninis, wraps, salads, homemade quiches, and soups. Munchies also tempts diners with homemade chocolate candy, fudge, baked goods and a snack center. Many gluten free options are also available.
Watusi Café & Marketplace
New Marketplace & Expands to Dinner Monday – Friday from 4-8 pm, Watusi Cafe, a favorite for breakfast and lunch will be offering dinner. Their bar menu items ranges from boiled peanuts to a crab martini. Their evening dining additions include Cajun blue crab claws, braised short ribs, an assorted beet platter, and filet croquette among others. In addition to newly expanded hours, they have expanded to include a new marketplace. Now, you can enjoy a chance to shop and bring a bit of Hilton Head home with you.
Serving breakfast and lunch daily 7:30 am - 3:00 pm. Open for dinner Monday – Friday 4-8 pm, dine indoors or outside on their patio.

A few Hilton Head Island restaurants recently closed their doors, some after decades: 843, Angler’s, Steamers, The Chart House, Hugo’s, Charlie Graingers, Pino Gelato and The Outback. Also, The Oyster Bar in Bluffton has closed.
